2011 in review

i do not get on this blog near enough…other online outlets have drawn my attention as of late.  but i thought i would at least post this video as an attempt to stay caught up.  i have a project that i am going to start with a friend this month that should be interesting enough to post on here.  in watching last year’s video, there has been growth and i am definitely hoping that continues.

every picture has a story

i have been told before that people can “feel” things from my photographs.  i like that sentiment a lot.  i was walking through the bookstore the other day and a title from a book popped off the shelf.  it was a book that talked about photographs evolving into stories.  so i am going to try an exercise with myself.  to pick a photo and write its story.  the story that i want it to tell.  wish me luck.

this is part of my “year of ann” project inspired by a recent acquaintance. i am taking a photo of myself every week centered around an idea or a theme.  i really liked this one because i had to learn something new in order to create it.  it has been pretty challenging so far to come up with ideas.  if you are interested in seeing more of the photos, then click the link below.

a friend has opened a new studio and once again, i get a chance to capture people dancing.  it is truly something i love to watch and take photographs of in any way shape or form.

this man will be famous one day.  i am glad that i had a chance to photograph him.  he is amazing to watch.  i like the movement and shadow in his shirt in this photo.
